Well despite my best efforts I still have more work to do then I will have time to finish! lol
I know my Mom wants to help but I want her time here to be fun and not all work - so I am desperately trying to get as much picked up as possible before they arrive Thursday! But not to worry I am sure there will be tons left to do!
So as titled I will share what happened to me today, along the way!
For starters my day was to consist of cleaning, getting insurance for our cars and stopping by the vet to get the girls their shots and so forth. Cleaned... good start! Then at 215 I took my to precious puppies to meet with their new vet! He was very nice and the girls seemed to like him just fine! So all shots taken care of and nails trimmed off we go - I drop them off at home and then head for the insurance agent. So far so good!
I decided to cut my drive from the normal traffic to a side road that goes along an addition. Well wouldn't you know it - two cute hand size dogs come darting out in front of my car! So I slammed on the breaks and then pulled over to see if I could call them over since one had a collar... well that didn't work! The one without the collar was more willing to come closer but they both kept taking off! They ran into a back yard so I thought well maybe it is where they lived so I rang the door bell. Dogs started barking but no one answered and the pair ran back out and into the road! So I went back down to my car, about two doors down from where I was and rang the bell of the house where I thought they came from when they crossed in front of my car.
A very nice lady came to the door and said that they do that all the time - that the owner said "he likes to run". But she didn't know they had a new puppy. She had called on them several times and gave me a number to call. So I did and they said they would be out to check on them since the owner had a few more days to get the fence fixed where they where coming out! Well I tried! When I left they where sun beathing in front of their home next to the mailboxes.
So I met with the agent and then left to come home and along the way...
A black dog with a zebra tail darted out in front of me and across four lanes of heavy traffic! I could hardly beleive my eyes! I couldn't just leave her wondering around so I watched to see where she went and pulled over in a parking lot close to where I thought she might be headed. She came around the corner and took a look at me and decided to go the other way! I didn't want to scare her and chase her back onto the street so I waited a few seconds before I started toward where she had darted around to... and then here she came! Running to me! Well I would like to say that she decided I was who she wanted to be with but... a man came out of a close by apartment and was walking toward her so she turned and ran! It was only after I had grabbed her collar that the man came around the corner to get in his car and I relized I was the better of the two evils! I am so glad that people use collars and even better when they have a phone number but when the phone is disconnected... so I said well lets get you in my car so I can check out your tag better! She jumped right in and fell asleep almost instantly! Poor girl! Her name was Blue and I really didn't check to see what sex she was so at this point - I was calling her a boy! Can you imagine my surprise when I found out she was a she!
Luckily her tag was one from a vet whom called the owner who then called me. She had been out since Friday and this was Monday evening. No wounder she went right to sleep when she got in my car! The girl was in tears and so thankful. Apparently the gate on her fence had been removed so that the house could be broke into - they must have been scared off before getting in the house but Blue and one other dog apparently left during all the fuss. The other dog, her husbands - they are newly married - has yet to be found. I was glad that I stopped - but even happier that I found her owner because I don't think Jeremy would have been happy with me bringing another dog home! lol Oh about her zebra tail, she was a blue healer and lab mix, too cute!
So along the way life brings many twist and turns and even if it wasn't exactly what I had planned for my late afternoon - it was well worth my time. I only hope if one of my babies gets out someone else will have the same Want to stop and help.
